Wal-mart, You Suck!

The part of the Wal-mart article that made me more angry than anything was the fact that that woman's family doesn't tell her anything about what is going on. I know that I don't know the specifics of the situation or her condition but if I were in an accident like that I would at least want to be treated normally and not to be lied to. I also don't get why they said anything about the son being killed in Iraq. It seemed really irrelevent to me because it had nothing to do with the accident or the lawsuit. I think that their situation is bad enough but CNN didn' have to go and try to make it into a sob story by adding pointless fluff. (I don't mean to be harsh, I am sorry that the boy is dead) In terms of the case itself I think that Wal-mart did the right thing by sticking with its rules and not giving her the money because it would be unethical to give her money but not anyone else who is on the same plan. While I agree with that I don't agree with the fact that they recoup her expenses. That's just cheap. Wal-mart is already a multi-million dollar company and they dont need to be ripping of their employees to stay afloat. I say what I have always said. Wal-mart is crap.

Good Luck Barack, Hillary and John!

I lost feeling about this war the minute it started. I think that it an utter waste of time and money but I realize that there is nothing to do about that than complain and that doesn't work so I choose to not waste my energy. It is bcause of this lack of interest that I know nothing about the war. The only thing that I can remember hearing recently is that now that for one day that it costs for us to occupy Iraq there is enough money for food for 8,000,000 kids for one year. Thats just sad. I guess by now I have just learned to just tune it out and I think that I feel alright about that knowing that there is a very good chance that we will be out soon after Bush is gone. I do think that with a new president that we will withdraw and I think that is a good thing. I don't know what exactly we should do about getting the troops out but I do know that we elect people to make that choice for us and that no matter who we chose we will be out eventually. I just hope that we can pull out of our three trillion dollar debt before China takes us over.

Book Worm?

Well it feels like forever since I posted last. Anyway, about the books. I think that The Tipping Point finished off alot better than it started. I don't know if it is just that I got more used to how he was writing or if it actually got more interesting but I think that the case studies were the best part of the book. I just hope that the next book will be more like the case studies than anything else but based on what we got with this book I can't expect that he would change his ways after writing a best seller.

Now for the annoying part of my post. I love to think of myself as an avid reader. I know that that probably isn't true but it is still how I like to see myself. I am one of those people that read almost ten books at a time. So, you asked what I'm reading? Well, here are the top 3 (in no real order). 1) Confessions of a Wicked Stepsister by the same guy who wrote Wicked. The book is, like all of Maguire's books, tells another side of a famous story. This book follows one of the ugly stepsisters and is deeply surrounded and filled with the politics and social impacts of beauty and ugliness. 2) Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. Crazy story that is based in science politics and religion. If you don't really want to read Cat's Cradle I would still recommend that you read any of Vonnegut's books because his writing style is so original. 3) In Cold Blood by Truman Capote is the story of the slaughter of a small town family and is the most popular book that is written in the style of new journalism. It is a great story and it is written so complexly and with so much care it is worth reading over and over.
